Best Picture dimenangkan oleh Birdman dan secara cukup
mengejutkan mengalahkan boyhood yang proses syuttingnya memakan waktu 12 tahun.
Ini membuktikan bahwa jalan cerita yang kuat masih dicari oleh juri Academy
Awards. Selain itu, teknik shoot Birdman berhasil membuat film itu menjadi pemenang best Cinematography.
Julianne Moore menang sebagai aktris terbaik di Still Alice.
Aktris ini memang sangat hebat dan mampu mengalahkan Rosamund Pike sebagai Amy
di Gone Girl. Padahal berdasarkan opini saya, Rosamund Pike tadinya mampu meraih Best Actress.
Intersellar yang menjadi salah satu film paling dibicarakan di tahun 2014 hanya mampu masuk nominasi dan menang sebagai Best Visual Effect. Padahal, menurut saya film ini sangat pantas minimal masuk sebagai nominasi Best Picture.
Finally Big Hero 6 memenangkan best animation dan
mengalahkan How to Train Your Dragon. Big hero 6 telah kalah di Golden Globe
dan BAFTA tapi mampu memenangkan penghargaan tertinggi di dunia perfilman.
Sayang sekali Lost Star dan Everything is awesome tidak berhasil memenangkan OST terbaik.
Semoga Oscar tahun depan menjadi lebih baik lagi
